GirlfriendGPT review: plans, media and privacy

Plan screen checkedFree-account observationNo paid output test

GirlfriendGPT is worth a look if you want character chat and image creation in one service, but check the exact plan and privacy terms before paying. Its published limits, current plan cards and older video announcement do not all describe access in the same way.

We inspected the plan screen on October 29, 2026, in Chrome using an existing free account. We did not buy a subscription, generate an image or video, test chat quality, or complete checkout. Prices and availability can vary; the currency was displayed with a dollar sign but not identified on the screen we checked.

The annual price is a commitment, not a monthly bill

On the subscription screen, the monthly view showed three plans. We then switched to Yearly billing: the headline became a lower monthly equivalent, with a full-year total displayed underneath.

PlanMonthly billing shownAnnual billing shownAdvertised monthly allowance
Premium$15/month$144/year ($12/month equivalent)5,000 messages and 400 coins
Deluxe$35/month$294/year ($24.50/month equivalent)20,000 messages and 1,200 coins
Elite$50/month$396/year ($33/month equivalent)Unlimited messages and 2,000 coins

These are displayed plan-card figures, not charges we paid or independently tested allowances. The screen we saw used $ without specifying a currency code; tax, region, renewal price and checkout terms remain unverified. Check your own checkout before relying on the table.

A useful distinction: messages and coins are separate allowances. The Elite card’s unlimited-message claim does not establish unlimited images or video. Before upgrading for media, check the coin cost of the exact model and how retries affect the balance.

The terms describe free core features and give examples of a small total message allowance. They also describe paid message credits that reset monthly. The Elite card we saw instead advertised unlimited messages, so treat the current account screen and checkout as the place to confirm the limits for your plan; we did not test either limit.

Before committing to a year, check cancellation with the payment provider shown at checkout. The terms say cancellation stops future rebilling; they generally do not promise a refund for an unused period, although they describe limited exceptions and applicable local rights. We did not purchase or test cancellation.

The privacy policy mentions a few trial messages before registration, while the terms describe registration to use the service. We did not test an anonymous session, so do not rely on either wording as proof of current guest access.

Image-to-video access: check the exact feature before upgrading

The Premium plan card we saw advertised custom five-second videos; Deluxe listed ten-second videos. An official March 2026 announcement says its image-to-video feature is available to Deluxe and Elite subscribers.

Those descriptions may refer to different video workflows. We have not tested whether Premium can animate a gallery image, so the card alone does not settle that question. If image-to-video is your reason to subscribe, open the image’s video action and verify the required plan and coin charge before paying.

The announcement describes selecting an existing generated image, choosing a video model and entering a motion prompt. That is the vendor’s documented workflow, not a result we generated. For a fair comparison with a video-focused service, use the same rights-cleared fictional image and count the cost of the still, the clip and any retry.

What the image creator shows before generation

The advanced image creator we opened with an existing free account shows a prompt, negative prompt, style choices, a creativity control and image-count options. Its on-page instructions say to sign in before generating. The form makes those choices visible, but it does not establish output quality or a free image allowance.

In the same free-account session, we opened the advanced creator and dismissed its introduction. Auto-Enhance and Safe Mode were on, and Negative Prompt was collapsed. The Generate Image button showed 20 beside an icon. We did not press it or check the balance, so that number is not a verified charge or a promise that the same price applies to every setup.

Start with one image and a short fictional brief. If you change the style and creativity together, you cannot tell which change improved the result. Save the chosen settings and compare one variable at a time. This is a suggested test, not a claim that we generated or compared images.

Privacy: deletion and retention are separate questions

GirlfriendGPT’s privacy policy includes discussions with AI companions in the content it describes. It says personal information is usually kept for six years after an account is closed, subject to the stated purposes and exceptions.

That wording does not prove every chat is retained for exactly six years, or establish how an individual deletion request will be handled. Before sharing anything sensitive, read the current policy and ask support how chat deletion, account closure and retention apply to your data.

Use fictional details for an initial test. The terms also describe rights and permissions for submitted content, so check those terms before uploading any real person’s image or voice.

Who should compare another option?

Choose a character-chat shortlist if conversation is the main task, and check how each service handles context and editing. For example, SpicyChat documents separate memory controls; Nomi offers a companion-oriented workflow. We have not run a matched conversation test between them and GirlfriendGPT, so those links are starting points rather than performance rankings.

If local control matters more than an integrated hosted service, SillyTavern connects to a separately chosen model; that setup brings its own configuration and possible provider costs.

Next step: verify the action you actually need

Use the free access available in your own account to check a fictional character and locate the exact image or video action you want. Note its plan requirement and displayed coin cost, then compare the full billing period at checkout. If a feature or retention answer is unclear, ask support before purchasing.
