Promptchan is worth a free look if you want image and video controls in one browser workspace. For video, budget a Pro subscription plus Gems. Pro combines unlimited Casual generations with a separate credit balance, so check the selected action’s charge before committing. Also decide how you will keep a finished clip.
On November 1, 2026, we inspected the anonymous creation interface in a fresh headless Chrome session. We switched Image to Video without entering a prompt or generating. These are interface observations, not output-quality, billing or retention tests.
Read the estimate after choosing Image or Video
The official site’s Create link opened the generator. Its Image view displayed Hyperreal XL+, Default pose and an empty prompt, with a 2-Gem estimate beside the generation control.
Switching to Video changed the visible setup to Auto, Cinematic style and Default pose. The dialogue and main prompt remained empty; the estimate displayed 17 Gems. Audio was on, with a separate +3-Gem label. We did not change that switch or click a generation button. These are estimates for the visible setups, not actual charges or universal image and clip prices; we did not establish every quality selection.
Dialogue can change the Auto video path
The Video panel offered Auto, v4 and v4-voice. Its help text says Auto uses v4-voice when dialogue is added and describes that path as offering speech and sound with weaker motion than v4. That is the interface’s explanation; we did not compare generated results or verify the routing with a submitted request.
Recheck the model and estimate after adding dialogue. If motion is your priority, compare the available routes with a harmless, consistent brief before spending on a larger sequence. A voice-enabled result should be assessed for motion as well as speech.
Pro access and the Gem balance are separate budgets
The public plan page lists the following website monthly prices in USD, checked November 1. These are public reference prices; promotions, tax, billing interval and your checkout total still need checking.
| Plan | USD / month | Gem allowance | Decision point |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | A few starter Gems | Inspect the workflow; no fixed production quota established here. |
| Plus | $14.99 | 100 / month | Image-oriented access; check required controls. |
| Premium | $23.99 | 400 / month | More Gems, styles and poses. |
| Pro | $33.99 | 800 / month | Casual allowance plus access to video and Extend. |
Our previous paid-only label was too narrow: the current page offers a free starting account. It describes starter Gems and limited free chat; it does not establish a dependable daily image quota. We did not create an account or receive the allowance.
The video guide says video requires Pro and spends Gems. Higher quality, sound or a character can add cost, and the button should show the estimate before generation. Treat Animate and any later Extend as parts of the workflow to price individually.
The separate prompting guide also says increasing image quality increases Gem cost. An unlimited Casual allowance is not an unlimited budget for every quality setting or video action. We have not verified Gem deductions, rollover or expiry on an account.
Download a keeper instead of publishing it just for storage
We expanded Video More Settings. The field named Publish was set to Unsaved; its help distinguished cloud-saved Private content from device-only Unsaved content. Auto Save was off, and its help described automatic downloads in supported browsers. We did not change these controls, generate or test whether anything survived a reload.
The video guide, dated June 29, 2026 and checked again today, says unpublished clips are kept for 24 hours and recommends downloading those you want to keep. We did not generate a clip, download one or wait for an expiry; this is the provider’s stated availability rule. Do not treat it as a tested guarantee that an Unsaved result will survive closing a tab or changing devices.
Publishing has a separate consequence. The terms, sections 8.3.1–8.3.3, give the platform broad rights to use public-mode content, including promotion, and give other users reuse rights. Section 8.4 says it does not assert rights to private/offline-mode content or use it for public or commercial purposes. These are contractual statements, not our guarantee of copyright or privacy.
If you want a permitted clip to remain private, check private creation is available on your plan and download the finished file promptly. Publishing solely to extend its availability introduces sharing and reuse consequences.
We did not verify private-mode availability or its defaults on a subscribed account. The policy’s word “offline” also does not establish local processing. The privacy policy has broader personal-data retention provisions, so the 24-hour clip rule should not be read as deletion of every related record.
A 30-day refund window has usage conditions
The refund policy makes subscription refunds conditional on not having made significant use of its AI services, requires cancellation before requesting a refund and describes case-by-case review. It also says cryptocurrency transactions are non-refundable. The page does not quantify significant use; we did not test a purchase, cancellation or refund.
Do not budget a large generation experiment on the assumption that the subscription can be refunded afterward.
Price one complete workflow before committing
For an image-to-video project, identify the still-image settings, Animate charge, possible Extend charge and download path before buying for that purpose. Compare the final settings rather than converting the monthly Gem count into an assumed number of usable clips.
If your main task is anime illustration, compare NovelAI’s image-credit rules. If you want to maintain your own visual workflow and models, compare ComfyUI. We have not run a same-input quality comparison with either.
Next step: inspect your required controls and current estimate, confirm the intended privacy mode, and plan to download any wanted video promptly, before leaving the workspace. Use a nonsensitive, permitted sample if you proceed; the generation and export check remains unperformed in this review.
